What is Evaluation?

It is a systematic determination of a subject’s merit, worth and significance, using criteria governed by a set of standards. In simple words, it is the assessment or examination to know the vitality of a task, and in this regard, there is a set of standards, with its accordance we have to evaluate. For example, the Scientific method; it is a scientific method, in which the acquired knowledge is tested by observation, hypothesis, experiment, conclusions, etc. These steps are the set of standards, and the results will be the evaluation of the hypothesis we guessed. Evaluation is the outcome of the planning or mission we carried.

What is Analysis?

Is the process of breaking a complex topic or substance into smaller parts to gain a better understanding of it. The technique has been applied in the study of mathematics and logic since before Aristotle (384-322 B.C). The word came from the Ancient Greek ( analusis, “a breaking up”, from ana- “up, throughout” and lysis ” a loosening”). In simple words, it is a process in which the issues, materials, etc are studied thoroughly to gain more of knowledge and information about it. For example, if you want to know about the characteristic of water (H2O) then you have to break it into simple parts to study it in a competent way, when it will get split into simple then a deep study of their constituents would be made.

Analysis

Key Differences

  1. Evaluation tells us about the outcome or the value of the thing. On the other hand, analysis splits the material into its basic and simplest form.
  2. Usually, we do analysis before evaluation. Both have different methods to carry out them.
  3. When you are analyzing the outcome or result is not necessary but when you evaluate the result and conclusion is compulsory.
  4. Usually, analyzing is more of a thinking process, but the evaluation is the conclusion after going through the thinking process.
