Guidance and Counseling are two of the many branches of Psychology. Psychology is a diverse field related to the study the mental behavior. In Psychology thinking of people is observed to understand the reason of their behavior and is applied upon the process to come up with an applicable principle of behavior and motivation. Both of the Guidance and Counseling involve the helping of the people for making choices about different things in which they might have confused and unable to decide. Counseling is the branch of psychology dealing with the research work to provide the supervision, training and direction while Guidance is the branch of psychology dealing with the clients assistance in their need to choose the right course of action. Counseling is based upon inward analysis while Guidance is based upon external analysis. Guidance focuses on finding the solution for the concerned problem while on the other hand Counseling focuses on understanding and getting the problem properly to deal with. Counseling is more extensive than guidance. Guidance is to give you the solution or you can say the “Dinner is ready”. Counseling is to make you able to get the solution by properly getting the problem or you can say “Prepare the dinner by yourself”.
