It is accumulated by dead tissues and pus. Many boils get together making a head which is called carbuncles. Sty is a type of boil that forms at eyelid. Boils pop by themselves. You should not pop the boils as it may cause the infection to spread in the blood. Boils may appear on face, neck, shoulders, armpits, buttocks and thighs.

Cysts may occur anywhere in the body including kidneys, liver, brain and inside tumors. It is basically an autoimmune reaction. It can be caused by parasitic infection such as tape worm.
